A Warrior’s Thoughts

Gregory B. Kirklin Sr. is a retired U.S. Army veteran who has a passion for writing. After graduating from Ravenna High School in 1975, he served in the Army from 1976-1983. In 2014, he began writing and joined a Veterans Writing Circle. He also started a writing circle for veterans in Akron, Ohio in 2016-2018. Gregory has performed in spoken word shows in Akron, Ravenna, Kent, Canton, and St. Louis since 2015. He was the headline act at G-Pop’s Entertainment Dinner and Show Spoken Word Show. Gregory was born in Cleveland and raised in Ravenna, the seventh of eleven children (seven boys and four girls). His two older sisters have passed away, and his mother passed away in 2010. He has performed at the May 4 ceremony at Kent State University. Gregory B. Kirklin Sr.’s gift for writing is an inspiration to all.
